Hello, My name is Wes Lodes. I am an avid bird hunter and love watching an intelligent bird dog work an upland field. I found enjoyment in working with pointing dogs when I got my first shorthair after high school. After reading a lot of books, trying different training methods, and help from a local trainer, that dog went on to be an AKC master hunter. Since then I have put some really nice dogs in the kennel and have found much enjoyment in training, hunt testing, and field trialing my personal and clients dogs. The knowledge, and experience I have gathered through the years has made it easy for me to understand and train each individual dog differently. I feel every dog needs a different approach to bring out their best characteristics. My kennel is located at my home, a couple miles south of New Ulm in south central Minnesota. I take a lot of pride in our farm because it has been in my family for over 100 years. Since I have moved here in 2007 I have made a lot of changes and improvements to the farm to accommodate the training business. While your dog is here for training he will be boarded in a clean spacious kennel. We have both indoor and outdoor kennels. All kennels are constructed with block walls dividing them from neighboring dogs. Our indoor kennels have heated concrete floors to keep dogs comfortable in cold weather. The outdoor kennels allow dogs to go through a door to a smaller indoor kennel which also have heated floors inside. Dogs that stay with us for training are offered to run and play in a 60X80 airing pen daily while kennels are cleaned and sanitized. |
